Andrew Cummins is Senior Managing Director of CVC Asia Pacific Limited and Chairman of the local Advisory Board. His responsibilities cover Australasia, as well as other transactions in Asia. He has broad international experience and has traveled extensively in his various business roles.
Andrew has been directly involved in some of CVC Asia Pacific’s largest and most successful transactions: including Pacific Brands, acquired from Pacific Dunlop in 2001 for A$730 million, Tech Pacific acquired from Hagemeyer in 2003 for A$345 million and Affinity Health acquired from Mayne Group Limited in 2003 for A$845 million. In Hong Kong, he introduced CVC to the Li Fung Group in the acquisition of the Inchcape Marketing businesses.
Andrew initially worked as an advisor to CVC Capital Partners in 1998 and 1999 on the acquisition of the Amatek Group of companies in Australia. This was the first A$1 billion private equity buy-out in Australia. He joined CVC Asia Pacific as Managing Director in 2000. Prior to working with CVC, from 1992 to 1997 Andrew was a main board director of Inchcape Plc, based in London. He was responsible for Group Development, the Ricoh business machines joint venture in Asia, and from 1996 the Marketing Businesses in Asia and the Middle East. In 1999, having left Inchcape, Andrew participated in the buy-out of these Asian Marketing businesses with CVC and the Li & Fung Group. Prior to joining Inchcape, Andrew was a senior executive in the Fosters Brewing Group (previously Elders IXL). He joined Elders in 1985, and led the acquisition of the Courage Breweries in the UK, and subsequently relocated to London. He was later appointed Chief Executive of Elders Investments Limited in Hong Kong, and was responsible for the financial restructuring of Elders IXL when non-brewing assets were divested to create Fosters Brewing Group. From 1976 to 1985 Andrew worked with McKinsey & Company, a leading management consulting firm.
Andrew has a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Monash University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Studies from the University of Newcastle, and an MBA from Stanford University in California.
