Patrick Sheehan,
Partner, Environmental Technologies Fund

Patrick is a founding partner of ETF – the Environmental Technologies Fund. ETF is a London-based £110m venture capital fund focused exclusively on Cleantech. It invests on a Pan-European basis with emphasis on the UK, the Nordic Countries, Benelux and Switzerland. It is backed by leading European institutional investors such as Swiss Re and the European Investment Fund.

Patrick has 21 years prior experience of Venture Capital with 3i, investing in the UK, mainland Europe, the USA and Israel. During this time he gained a reputation as a thought leader and innovator, investing in a wide range of technology companies across a variety of sectors. He was, for example, the founding MD of Silicon Valley operation and for many years was on the management committee of venture capital operation. Patrick started his career as a research engineer at GEC and as a technical consultant for Marconi Space Systems.

Patrick is the current Chairman of the European Venture Capital Association’s Venture Capital Committee, and is a member of the EVCA executive committee.

Patrick has a PhD in electronic engineering and a First Class Honours degree in electronic & electrical engineering from UCL.
