Uli W. Fricke,
Triangle Venture Capital Group

Since 1997, Uli W. Fricke has been General Founding Partner and CEO at Triangle Venture Capital Group. Uli is in charge of business management, finance, marketing and business development. She led Triangle’s fund raising activities for Funds I to IV as well as being responsible for the structuring of the funds advised by Triangle. Since 1999, Triangle has advised investments in 11 start-up companies, acting as lead investor in all portfolio companies with more than 35 transactions completed, including follow-on and bridge funding rounds.

Uli started her career in 1987, working part-time at a tour operator company during her university studies. After graduation in 1991, she was immediately promoted director of sales and marketing. In 1994, at age 25, Uli was appointed CEO. In 1996, Uli was appointed CEO of CareMed, a global insurance company specialized in international medical insurance with offices in Toronto and Dublin. Under her leadership, the company grew threefold within three years and became highly profitable. Uli developed the company from a start-up into an internationally attractive target active in Europe, Asia and the Americas. The business was sold under her guidance in 2001 at a triple-digit multiple in a cross-Atlantic transaction.

Uli initiated the “Starkenburg Enterprise Forum“, a program following the model of the MIT Enterprise Forum, to help young scientists commercialize their innovations and start technology companies under the guidance of experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts. Uli graduated with an MBA from the University of Applied Science in Worms at the age of 22. Her areas of study were business development, sales and marketing.
