Siemens Acceleration in Communications
Dr. Ingo Potthof (38), Investment Partner, brings in broad experience in the IT, communications, and in the investment business. Within Siemens Acceleration, Ingo is responsible for all investment activities in Israel. One of his early investments for Siemens, the gambling technology provider scaraboo, was recently acquired by BGT AG. Currently he’s holding board positions in the portfolio companies Mobixell Networks, Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies, Dblur Technologies as well as OverSi.
Before joining Siemens Acceleration in 2001, Ingo worked for several years with the telecom operator O2. He accounted for the overall strategy development and strategic business planning as well as initiated their corporate VC activities. As project manager, he developed the UMTS auction strategy. As head of the Mergers & Acquisitions department, Ingo took corporate wide responsibility for all equity investments; in this function he initiated the company's venture capital activities. His project experience spans across investments in a variety of segments, including city carriers, cable carriers, and Internet start-ups.
Prior to that, Ingo was a managing consultant for various large companies in Germany and abroad in the areas of IT and strategy. During this period he was also a lecturer and researcher at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, where he gained his doctorate with in the analysis and assessment of investment decisions in the IT sector.
Ingo received a diploma degree in computer science and business administration from the University of Mannheim, Germany, in 1993.
