Iain Wilcock,
Quester
Since joining Quester in 1996, Iain has been responsible for Healthcare investments. Currently, he sits on the Boards of 5 early stage healthcare companies, including Avidex, Oxxon Therapeutics and Vivacta. He is an effective Board member with experience of developing strategies around novel technologies, team-building and corporate finance. Previous investments include companies that have listed on leading exchanges such as LSE, AIM and NASDAQ or have been acquired by trade purchasers.
Iain is Deputy Managing Director of Quester and is responsible for Quester’s healthcare and life sciences investment activities. He also founded and manages Quester’s university seed fund activities, which generate about 1/3rd of the deal flow. He has extensive experience of working with technology transfer offices, academics and a wide range of seed investors. Iain is well known in the university technology exploitation arena. He has managed several university linked funds, including the Isis College Fund.
Following university, Iain joined Credit Suisse First Boston, the investment bank. He then joined the corporate finance division of Coopers & Lybrand where he managed a broad range of small to medium-sized corporate finance assignments. He gained extensive experience of working with senior management in rapidly changing businesses. Before joining Quester, he worked for Courtaulds in a corporate business development role. Iain has a degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University. He is an alumnus of London Business School and has a professional tax qualification.
